Baker Stickland Environmental is one of a limited number of approved Sto installers, and have been
privileged to work closely with Sto to provide the specially shaped StoSilent acoustic sails for the soon to be broadcast "Grand Design" project at Hill Barn, situated in the beautiful village of Barton-on-the Heath. This project has utilised the significant acoustic benefits of the "Stosilent Modular" system for this unique construction.

Sto have installed a number of their "Modular System 100" acoustic sails in this fascinating house. However, the project architect and client, Helen Seymour-Smith, wanted a number of bespoke shaped acoustic sails which Sto could not supply within the limited remaining time. Sto presented Baker Stickland Environmental with the challenge of manufacturing and installing these special sails within a two week time frame.

Baker Stickland Environmental were able to adapt the "StoSilent Modular 100" panel concept, and
manufactured these special bespoke panels, shaped and positioned to the exact project design requirements, and installed them on time.

The Sails are manufactured from "StoSilent" Robust 2400x1200x15mm panels and are trimmed with a white edging and finished with spray applied Stosilent Superfine. Although on this project a white colour was chosen throughout, Sto manufacture the Superfine finish in 490 different colours, so these rafts could be tailored to meet your specific needs both in shape and colour.

The Acoustic Sails make a huge difference to the acoustic comfort of any space and at 0.80 NRC they provide a weighted sound absorption of 0.85 aw(250-2000 hz) and are classified as a class B absorber.

The Sails are also highly recommended as a retro fit to restaurants and bars where the ambient noise levels may be disruptive causing the space be an uncomfortable environment to spend time, due to poor acoustics.

Not only do the Sto Acoustic Sails provide excellent acoustic advantages, they also provide a three dimensional visually stimulating contrast to a plain, flat ceiling, especially with the vast range of colour options available.

All our Sto Sail ceiling products are delivered fully manufactured completed and ready to install, resulting in minimal disruption to your business. They provide a cost effective, quick and clean solution to any space.

The sails are fully building regulation compliant, non combustible with BS 476 parts 6 & 7 class 1/0 approval.
