Clarendon Road - Watford

Baker Stickland are proud to bring to the market's attention their new raft ceiling systems. Initially developed in conjunction with architects Morey Smith. Baker Stickland, working with Contractors 8 Build, have recently completed ceilings comprising perforated and solid rafts into the new Arup offices in Watford.

Whether the rafts are free floating or surrounded by an architectural margin, we have the engineering solutions to provide a superb, value engineered finished product.

The ceiling raft panels are all hinge-down and provide amazingly clear ceiling void space and service access as can been seen in the above photographs.

Panel sizes up to 2800 x 1500mm are possible with a vast array of finish options and styles.

Despite the available size, these panels are light weight, and remarkably flat, indeed flatter than anything else currently on the market

Trafigura - London

Completed in September 2008, these new offices and reception for Trafigura are fantastic.

Trafigura, a significant tenant in Land Securities' Portman Place building, just off Marble Arch, had outgrown their two floors and needed either an additional floor, or to move. Trafigura's facilities department managed to negotiate additional space with one of the existing tenants which has enabling them to expand into a further floor in Portman Place thereby saving them significant relocation costs.

The fit-out comprised the re-alignment and fabrication of suspended ceilings and plasterboard drylining, along with new data and telecoms, fire detection, lighting, sprinklers, with new furniture, carpets and decorations.

Baker Stickland assisted Trafigura with space planning, Bulding Control approvals and managed the whole Design and Build process from beginning to end.

Entered for the AIS prestigious Contractor awards 2009 in the under £1,000,000 Fit-Out Category we feel this project offers us a real opportunity to come away with the silverware.

Little Britain Challenge Cup

As you can see from the link at the top of this page Baker Stickland Limited and Baker Stickand Environmental Limited took part for the first time in the 2008 Little Britain Challenge Cup on board Bandito.

With a mixed experience staff crew we started poorly but came good at the end finishing 3rd overall in IRC2 and 38th in the Little Britain Challenge Cup. Out of 247 boats we are particularly pleased with this result especially as we were racing more experienced crews.

From the LBCC web site;
"IRC Class 2

Galliford Try were not going to give up their Class 2 crown without a fight, and their victory in the last race kept them in the running. However, the Hoare Lea team on Quokka have been the most consistent finishers this week and deservedly take the overall class prize. Meanwhile, Bandito's never say die attitude after a terrible start saw them claim third spot overall. "

"Bandito's never say die attitude” what a great accolade to the Baker Stickland crew.
